Calung (a traditional music instrument from West Java)

It’s the D-day. Time for me to play calung in a team as a very welcome performance in the graduation ceremony of the fourth generation of my school alumni.

This is calung I played
In my previous post, I’ve written how interest I was, playing calung, one of traditional music instrument from Indonesia. I’ve thought before that playing music instrument is kind of interesting, but I’ve never imagined that playing it is so very extra interesting. I believe it deeper that music is the soul of life for me (at least). I like listening to music very much. It can be said that I can’t stand being without music and songs.

Everybody who saw me at that performance told me that they didn’t expect that I can play music instrument like I did. They don’t think that I can play any music instrument or maybe they don’t think that I have any sense of art, though! Haha... Okay, let me tell you my experience of these two weeks practicing and finally performing in the occasion.

First practice, it was 13th of June. At that time, I myself didn’t think that I could survive in the first practice. I felt it so hard hitting that bamboo instrument. My left hand was just very rigid and couldn’t do nothing but hitting it and produce bad sound! The trainers, still taught us patiently, but I feel guilty. In the end of the practice, I just sigh and thought that maybe I have no talent in playing calung. I went back to school with bad feeling.

The next day, the second practice went better. We have different trainers than the first practice. They taught us patiently and clearly, which is the most important and what we really needed. After the second practice, everything’s going just fine and fun. I like playing it and practice time was what I was waiting for everyday

Today, tadaaa! It’s my performance with my friends and all the trainers. Thank you very much for trainers from RC, who has taught us patiently, and most important, clearly. Also for the opportunity gave to me and support of my friends when we practice and, after all, play together. Hopefully we (I) can have another opportunity playing other traditional music instrument.

As a conclusion, I want to say this. It always feels good to try new things and it feels even better, if you do something where your heart tells you to. I will dare myself to try new things, start from simple things, like playing calung.

These Two Days

For these fantastic two days, I am learning to play a music instrument as a presentation for my students' graduation. I like it....! It's my second chance learn music instrument. The first one is around thirteen years ago. I learned how to play guitar for the vocal group in art subject. It was successful, though. Now, I'm learning calung! I'll tell you more about it. Just wait, complete with photos! See you...!

It's About...

I learned a lot about...
I don't know what to learn about when one day I felt my heart so narrow and ache. Simply can't stand being alone when I got in to the situation. I keep myself busy to avoid my heart from that kind of feeling.

Now, I've just recognized that life is not only dare to love, but dare to understand what it is.

Feel simply happy because I'm proud that I care to others and maybe someday I will be loveable.

Many people feel happy although they are alone, right? Because they have so many love in their outstanding life surround.
